This summer, The Aidan Project is launching a pilot scholarship program to help more children access therapeutic camp experiences when they need them most.

Children with developmental differences can often struggle in traditional summer camps, where supports may not be designed with their needs in mind. Therapeutic camps offer something different — structured environments, trained staff, and intentional opportunities for children to build skills, confidence, and connection in ways that are meaningful for them.

Through this pilot, The Aidan Project will offer partial scholarships to help bridge the gap between what families can afford and the full cost of camp. This approach ensures that more children can participate while maintaining a sustainable model that can grow over time.

We are proud to partner with Playabilities for this initial pilot. As a trusted provider of therapeutic services in our community, Playabilities offers camp experiences designed specifically for children with developmental needs, making them an ideal partner for this effort.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with decisions made quickly so families can plan with confidence. Scholarships are awarded based on financial and therapeutic need, with a focus on expanding access to families who may not have previously received support.

This pilot represents an important step forward in our work to connect families to the resources their children need to thrive—not just in moments of crisis, but in everyday opportunities for growth and connection.

We look forward to sharing what we learn and how this program can continue to expand in the future.
